From signup to your first published plan — guided on the Home screen, without a long setup wizard.
After registration, PlanFast starts with a short setup (industry, company name, departments). Then you land on Home with the “Your first steps” card — interactive onboarding.
There you complete planning step by step: shift pattern, first plan, add team, assign, and publish. AutoPilot is offered afterwards — not during the initial setup.
The Home card is labeled “Your first steps”. Internally the mechanism is an onboarding quest; in this wiki we call it interactive onboarding.
Right after creating the company — three steps, usually under two minutes:
Choose your industry (e.g. restaurant, café, retail). PlanFast uses this for department suggestions and defaults (e.g. work days).
Your business name. Optionally leave a phone number for support — not required to start.
Add your areas (e.g. Service, Kitchen). Accept or edit industry suggestions. Qualifications, shift patterns and team come later in interactive onboarding or the relevant screens.
If you close short setup, PlanFast asks on the next login whether to continue the incomplete setup process — you resume where you left off.
The card shows for admins while onboarding is open (not dismissed, setup not marked complete). Five steps in fixed order — each locked until the previous one is done:
When and how many staff you need — via the shift planning card / requirements.
Create shifts from your pattern for the current planning period.
Share the invite code and/or create employee profiles. Placeholders without an app account are fine — see Invite employees.
Assign staff to shifts — automatically or manually via the shift planning card.
Send the schedule to the team. After that, the first plan counts as published.
Coach tips guide the active step. You can hide the card with “Don’t show again”.
When all five steps are done, PlanFast offers to enable AutoPilot — or continue planning manually. AutoPilot is not configured in short setup; you set cadence and lead time once the first plan exists.
Access code or QR — see Invite employees.
Team can set Wish / Available / Unavailable — see Availability.
Prepare future weeks automatically — see AutoPilot.
Previously a long setup wizard covered work days, shifts, qualifications, employees, absences and AutoPilot in one pass. That is replaced by short setup plus interactive onboarding on Home. Capacity hints and shift demand appear where you need them — when defining the pattern and planning — not as a wizard finish screen.
