What does the dashboard show?

The dashboard is the home screen for admins and the quick overview for employees. It bundles everything that needs action or attention:

For admins

  • Join requests
  • Absence requests
  • Sick leaves
  • Swap and handover requests
  • AutoPilot status

For employees

  • Upcoming shifts
  • Swap requests that involve you
  • Status of your own requests
  • Reminders to set availability

Swap and request overview

The dashboard has a section "Shift swap, applications, requests" — a bundled view of all open items:

  • Swap requests: e.g. "3 pending swap requests" with overview.
  • Pickup requests from shift handovers.
  • Absence requests for approval.
  • Join requests with or without placeholder merge suggestion.

Push notifications

PlanFast sends push notifications when something happens that directly involves you. You don't need to keep the app open — you'll be notified.

In-app messages

Alongside push notifications, all relevant events show as in-app messages on the dashboard. You can open, respond to or mark them as read — even later, if you missed a push.

Shift notes

Notes directly on a shift are a fast communication channel:

  • Manager: Can add notes to any shift — e.g. "Especially busy today, please be on time."
  • Employees: Can add notes to their own shifts — e.g. "Will be 10 min late, train delay."

When a note is added or changed, an automatic push and in-app message goes to the other side. More: Creating & managing shifts.

Push settings

In the app settings you can choose which pushes you receive — e.g. only shift assignments, no general updates. By default all important events are on.

Tip for managers

For very active teams, dim non-critical pushes so the truly important requests don't get lost in noise. Pending requests are always visible on the dashboard anyway.
